Mostly it means dogs. The listings we’ve checked talk about dogs
almost exclusively, and the practical questions are the same ones dog
owners ask everywhere: how many, how big, and what it costs. The honest

Where the pet-friendly
15 actually sit
Broken Bow the town and Broken Bow the cabin destination are two
different places, and it matters with a dog in the car. Hochatown, about
10 minutes north of town on US-259, is where the cabin clusters sit,
close to Beavers Bend State Park and Broken Bow Lake. Several of our
pet-friendly 15 are down in and around the town of Broken Bow itself
instead, which trades park proximity for quiet, longer walks from the
door and less Friday-night traffic. One, Walnut Ridge, sits properly
lakeside, which for a swimming dog is the winning ticket.
However you come, you’ll arrive on two-lane highway: no interstate
reaches McCurtain County, whether you’re driving from Dallas (about 3
hours) or Oklahoma City (about 3.5). Build in a stop, because a dog
that’s been in the car since Dallas has opinions.
